Sora and Kairi: Switched

A magical blue paopu fruit forces Sora and Kairi to switch bodies...along with all the responsibilities of the other. As if trying to switch back wasn't a problem enough, Kairi has entered into the Miss Teen Destiny Island Pageant. With Sora forced to participate in the pageant in Kairi's place, the two will have a chance to experience what it's like to live as the opposite gender.

This was originally written by me for the KH-Vids forum under "Destiny's Force."

Sora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 1

The sun was finally setting on Destiny Islands. Tidus, Wakka and Riku had spent the day repairing one of the bridges. Sora and Kairi were off on the other side of the island spending some quality time together. Tidus and Wakka had already headed back to the main island, leaving Riku to finish up some last minute handiwork.

"I'm really happy for those two," Riku thought as he hammered in the last nail. "Sora and Kairi deserve some alone time after everything that's happened." He stood up, stretched out his lower back and yawned. "Of course, it'd be nice if they had at least offered to..."

KABOOM!! A giant explosion rocked the entire island, Sora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 1

Kairi was looking around in Sora's bedroom, checking out the sights. She had never been in his bedroom before, so she was extremely curious what a teenage guy's room looked like. She was expecting the stereotypical pigsty that she always heard of, but the room was surprisingly well kept. "Maybe being a Keyblade master finally taught him some responsibility," Kairi thought.

The posters plastered on the walls were photos of all the different worlds that he had been to. "He must have bought a lot of souvenirs on his adventure." On his dresser were group photos of Sora and the many friends he made as well. Most of them wereSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 2

"...me. Whatever lies beyond this morning..." Without opening his eyes, Sora instinctively reached for the alarm. He let out a huge yawn, stretched out his muscles and began scratching his chest. At first it felt like he had gained some fat around the area since it felt soft and malleable to the touch. Pinching it a few times, he realized...

Sora's eyes snapped open and looked down. "AAAHHH!" He pulled his hands away immediately. "I...I..." The memories finally rushed back to him. He and Kairi had shared a blue paopu fruit which made them somehow switch bodies. "Oh my gawd, I've just been groping Kairi's..." Sora slappedSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 3

"Here! Try these on!" Selphie dumped a giant pile of outfits into Sora's arms. "Tell me which one fits!"

Sora looked at her incredulously. "Are you serious? What am I supposed to do with all of these?"

"Just do it!" she snapped, causing him to flinch.

"O-okay." Sora carried his load into one of the dressing room booths and locked the door behind him. Staring at the assorted clothing, he shook his head. "What am I supposed to try on first?" He rummaged around until he found what he thought was a perfectly acceptable outfit.

Selphie was waiting outside, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. After a few minutes, Sora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 4

"How do girls walk in high heels? I mean, is it a natural ability or what?" After four hours of non-stop shopping, Sora and Selphie finally headed over to the food court for lunch. They had a lot of shopping bags to take care of, so Sora agreed to Selphie buying while he watched them over. Unfortunately, it was the lunch rush, so Sora was keeping himself busy by talking to Naminé who had just recently woken up. The side of Kairi's face was becoming numb as Sora sat there with his head on the table's surface.

"Let's see...how do I explain this to you?" Sora propped an elbow on the table and rested his palm against his cSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 5

Sora had just finished his salad when a pair of surprisingly soft hands covered his eyes from behind. "Guess who?"

"Uh...the hottest guy I've ever had the pleasure of seeing?" he asked jokingly. Sora grinned as the hands uncovered his eyes to reveal Kairi in his body looking slightly awkward.

"Funny, Sora," Kairi sighed. "It's still hard to believe my voice really sounds like that."

Sora was still stunned to see the gang standing in front of him. "What are you guys doing here, anyway? I thought we were supposed to meet you back at the island."

"We wanted to surprise you, MISS Sora!" Tidus teased.

"Okay! The first thing that you really need to work on, Sora, is your walk." After lunch, the gang headed to the island, so they could help Sora prepare for the pageant without any outside distractions. Tidus and Wakka were lounging around the base of a palm tree. Riku was attempting to give Sora pointers on top of the newly repaired bridge and Selphie was with Kairi over in the nearby wooden shack.

Sora crossed his arms over his chest, a bit disgruntled. "What's wrong with my walk?"

"It may be okay if you were a guy. But since you're in a girl's body?" Riku shook his head. "You're going to have to learn how tSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 7

"And the next participant in the Evening Gown category: Kairi!" The Princess of Heart couldn't be any more nervous as she began to walk daintily along the runway. Her outfit consisted of a pink satin strapless gown with a white waistband hugging her midsection and magenta high heels. Her eyes scanned the crowd for her friends and sure enough, Sora, Riku and the others were in the front row, cheering her on. Kairi almost giggled at Sora's expression. His jaw was wide open and his eyes were round with shock. Riku had to literally reach over and close his mouth.

"I wonder how Sora and Kairi are doing," Riku thought. He had come to the island during sunrise to reinforce some of the new wooden planks that had become loose. He looked like a junior carpenter as he wielded the hammer in one hand and with nails in his teeth. "It must be pretty hard on both of them. I mean, if I woke up one day and found myself as a female..." A slight chill traveled down his spine. "They're probably getting used to it by now..." He had just finished using the last nail in his mouth to hammer down another board when Kairi showed up. Riku immediately knew something was up by the way her face seemed to saSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 9

"Come on, Kairi!" Tidus pleaded.

"No!" Kairi shouted forcefully with her arms crossed. Tidus had been spending the past ten minutes trying to get Kairi to tell him about her bondage fantasy. Of course, Kairi wasn't ready to share that part of her private thoughts.

"Please, Kairi? She piqued my interest!"

"If I tell you, will you stop nagging me?!" Kairi demanded. Tidus nodded enthusiastically making Kairi sigh. "Okay, look. It's none of your business, but if you must know..." Kairi glanced around nervously. "Basically, I'm wearing this exact same outfit, only it's completely made out of black leather, right?" SheSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 10

"So did you manage to get it?" Natalia asked.

"Was there any doubt?" Her "friend" handed Natalia back her cell phone. "It wasn't that hard. It only took a couple of minutes to transfer the information when he wasn't looking." The girl chuckled as she viewed the contents that had been acquired.

"This should teach her friends to keep their mouths shut," Natalia said smugly. She quickly pulled out her wallet and slapped a bundle of bills across her informant's palm.

Despite being paid, Natalia's "friend" still looked a bit uneasy. "Are you sure this isn't against the rules, though?"

"TIDUS, YOU MORON!" Kairi's hands were currently wringing Tidus' neck, crushing the ever-loving life force out of him. Sora and the others were trying to pry her fingers away.

"Kairi! Calm down!" Sora cried. But there was no doubt in his mind that Tidus deserved it for being careless. After the group met up outside in the town square, Sora relayed the situation to the others, resulting in Kairi's justified wrath. Donald and Goofy were currently in the men's bathroom trying to figure out how to use urinals that weren't designed for animals as all of the stalls were currently occupied.

"Question: How in the world did you call Twilight Town?" Riku asked Kairi. "Because as far as I know, you can't call to other worlds."

Kairi giggled. "You've really gotta get with the times, Riku." She whipped out Sora's cell phone again. "While we were fighting against the Organization, a handful of volunteers from every world got together and built interstellar routing stations. Kinda like satellite dishes posted throughout space."

Riku looked at Selphie. "I was wondering how you contacted Donald and Goofy so fast." After making the quick call to Pence, ("I'll be on the next Express!") the Destiny Island group bSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 13

"...and that, Twilight boy, is why Blitzball is much cooler than Struggle," Wakka finished.

"Yeah, right!" Hayner smacked his fist into his palm. "What could be more satisfying than smacking a weapon over another person's skull?" The three sports fanatics were walking around aimlessly arguing which of their sports was better instead of doing what they were supposed to. "If Pence were here, he'd back me up on this!"

Before the Destiny duo could counter, a human-shaped blur whizzed by them and smashed into a pile of garbage bags with a thunderous crash. "What the...?!" Wakka and the others ran up with concSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 14

Reasons and More Characters...

"So this guy we're looking for..." Sora gave Rachel a curious look. "Is he like your boyfriend or something?"

The blonde girl whirled around on him with a hard expression on her face. "You mean that perverted, knismolagniated, accident-prone, reckless, skirt-ripping, face-planting, clumsy, thick-skulled, unsophisticated, ecchi imp?!" Sora nodded fearfully. Rachel's face became passive as she shrugged. "I guess."

"He sounds a lot like someone I know..." Selphie eyed Sora who didn't quite catch the quip.

"If he's such a..." Sora picked his words carefully. "...dork, then why..."

"What's wrong, Kairi?" Pence noticed the disturbed look on Sora's face. After spending another hour searching around, they came up with nothing new about Natalia.

"I think we should abandon the plan," Kairi stated. The boys gaped at her in astonishment.

Riku gave her a quizzical look. "Abandon..."

"...the plan?" Pence finished.

Kairi sighed. "I mean, look at us. We're so obsessed over trying to get revenge that we've basically wasted the entire day plotting instead of prepping Sora a bit more." She shook her head in disappointment. "And let's be honest, he needs all the help he can get."

CRACK! "On your knees, slave!" She adjusted the grip on her whip and snapped it again. "Don't you ever talk back to me when I give you an order!"

The slave known as Sora got on his knees and lowered his face to the concrete floor. His chained shackles rattled across his bare chest. "Forgive me Mistress Kairi!" he apologized meekly.

"That's right! I'm your mistress! And don't you ever forget it!" The dominatrix snapped her whip again, cracking the air inches away from the boy. She didn't become the supreme ruler of all male kind by being nice. She turned her steely gaze to the serving wench, Riku. "You! Get me some root bSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 17

Pageants and Conspiracies

"Hello everyone and welcome to the Destiny Islands Annual Miss Teen Destiny Pageant! Thanks for joining us for this historical event! I'm Hayner and this is my partner-in-crime, Tidus!"

"Thank you, Hayner. It's a beautiful day! The sun's shining! Numerous businesses are making a killing (literally, I mean where's all the cops?) and it's a great day for shaking your money maker in front of hundreds of people!"

"That's right, Tidus! Girls from all around Destiny Islands are here for one purpose, to claim the half million munny scholarship and obtain bragging rights of being more hotter, sexier and more eye-catching Sora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 18

What Else Could Go Wrong?

The teenager called Michael lay on the ground unmoving. After all, he had just been knocked clear across the room by his fiery-tempered girlfriend. A few onlookers watched with concern at his motionless body.

"You think he's okay? That was one wicked punch!"

"He's still breathing, so he can't be dead."

"Eww, what's that smell?"

After a few awkward moments, in one swift motion, Michael's body suddenly bounded up to a standing position, forcing bystanders to jump back in shock.

"Urg..." He spat out the taste of plaster and paint residue from his mouth. "Never gonna get used to that." Cricking his neck a couple ofSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 19

"And so I said, 'Attention duelists!' Man, you should've been there..."

With a serene grin, the guard looked over at the silver-banged girl that he was leading. She hadn't said much other than "Mm-hm" and "Nuh-uh." It was quite clear that she wasn't really paying attention to his bravado, but he was so absorbed in spurting out his ego that the man didn't notice. Their footsteps echoed throughout the hallways as the pair walked along the eerily quiet corridor.

Riku's eyes constantly soaked in the environment expecting to see wooden doors plastered with huge, styrofoam stars and stage hands rushing around like Chocobos in Sora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 20

"And that concludes the Evening Gown portion of our program! Our judges will now determine which of these lovely ladies will move on to the next round as the group is reduced down to the top ten! Again, let's have another round of applause for these dazzling beauties!"

Sora was about to let out a sigh of relief, but Naminé knew better than to let their guard down. "They're still watching us, Sora! Wait until we're off-stage first!" The past fifteen minutes had been a blur of motion as the girls had been ushered back to the stage, quickly reintroduced to the crowd and the judges, went through all their posing and smiliSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 21

Sora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 22"Sora! Sora!" Namine couldn't help but feel frustrated and helpless. "Whatever Sora was knocked out with is preventing me from switching out or seeing what's going on," she grumbled. "I didn't think that was possible. Seriously, couldn't we have entered a competition that didn't involve cheating?" She sighed. "And now I'm monologuing. Great. Maybe I'm just too used to having someone bounce thoughts off of or something..." Namine didn't know how much time had passed, but she was eventually aware that Kairi's body had stopped moving. Namine was also aware that she could see their surroundings again. At first, there didn't seem to be any differeSora and Kairi: Switched! KHAF 22

"Why exactly do I have to be the seat reserver?" Wakka had attempted to save his friends' empty seats by placing their belongings on top. Unfortunately, the seats automatically folded up when not enough weight held them down, resulting in a lot of frustration on Wakka's part. "Maybe I'm just too nice of a guy or something..." He glanced toward the stage and noticed the curtains fluttering sporadically, signaling there was still activity going on behind the scenes. It was obvious that nothing like this had ever happened before due to confused stage hands popping out behind the drapes, unsure where to go and whose orders to follow.
